The science behind chemical peels

Why you should cut off dying leaves?

  1. Removing dying leaves free up nutrients and encourage fresh growth.
  2. The peeling of dried leaves prevents the spread of disease or pests.
  3. It improves health and appearance.

Very similarly we peel off the dead layer of skin by applying medical grade peels to the top layer of the skin. The skin that grows back after the procedure is smoother and younger-looking.

What is Chemical Peel?

At a very basic level, a Chemical Peel is a non-abrasive exfoliant treatment that removes dead skin, debris, and congestion. This reveals a healthier, brighter, and more even-looking skin tone. Skinssence’s peels are a great way to simply keep your skin looking its absolute best. We are committed to making our skin treatments affordable and available to everyone.

What To Expect Before, During, And After A Chemical Peel?

  • Before
Pre-Peel Consultation is very important. We will analyze your skin and at the same time guide you with some precautions. Further, we will suggest the most suitable home remedy for your skin. Also, expected results can be discussed before the Medical peel procedure. For example, it is better to avoid waxing, hair removal creams, and laser hair removal one week before your chemical peel. Stop using any exfoliating products or products that may be drying or irritating including products used in treatment for acne. On the day of your peel, you should cleanse your skin in the morning and should not apply makeup on the face other than eyes or lips.
  • The Peel Procedure During the peel your skin will be cleansed and toned and the chemical peel will be applied to your skin using a gentle brush, the peel will be left on the skin for between three and five minutes, during which time some patients may experience a mild tingling or a mild burning sensation. The procedure is not painful.  Subsequently, a cool compress may be applied to the skin. Your skin will be moisturized and an antioxidant and a sunscreen will be applied to the skin.
  • After
After a chemical peel, your skin is more prone to sun damage. It is crucial to protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or above. Most importantly, you must limit your exposure to the sun when the sun’s rays are at their strongest.
After the treatment, you may notice redness and scaling for about 3-7 days.

Chemical Peel At Home

Yes, chemical peels can be done at home. At-home facial peels contain ingredients in lower concentrations when compared to in-office peels. They are less risky and easy to use.

TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid), glycolic acid, beta hydroxy acid, and mandelic acid are common chemicals used in at-home peels.

Do not use at-home chemical peels for more than once or twice a week. Be patient with the results as they may take longer than in-office chemical peels.

How To Do Chemical Peel At Home?
Firstly, a “Patch test” is a must before any chemical process.
Leave on the peel for 30 seconds at first meanwhile observe for burning or redness if any occurs. Keep increasing 30 seconds in consecutive weeks.
After that use a good moisturizer and sunscreen in post-procedure care.

Medi-Peels FAQs:

When performed under an aesthetic physician certified dermatologist or trained skincare specialist, chemical peels are extremely safe. However, you must follow pre and post-peel instructions as suggested by your doctor. After analyzing your skin, Skinssence recommends products that will suit your skin best.

There is no age limit on Medical Peels, and these treatments can be a cost-effective way to refresh the skin or treat acne scarring. Deeper chemical peels are usually more appropriate for an older person. No one treatment is appropriate for everyone, contact to Skinssence Clinic, and get advice.

You can have a chemical peel done after microdermabrasion for clearer skin. Microdermabrasion involves the use of a handheld device that exfoliates the top layer of the skin. A combination of these treatments is good in case you have oily and acne-prone skin.

You can see your skin peel 48-72 hours after the treatment. This peeling can last for 2-5 days. Try not to pick at your skin and use a good moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. Bear in mind to be consistent with sunscreen usage in order to not reverse the benefits.

Professional peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, and even the arms and legs. The procedure is very comfortable with most patients experiencing a warm sensation that may last as long as ten minutes followed by a mild stinging sensation.
