Stretch Marks treatment at Skinssence

Stretch marks, or striae, occur after a period of intense growth where the skin is stretched rapidly – such as pregnancy or adolescence. Initially appearing as purple or reddish marks, stretch marks atrophy and lose color over time, giving them their silvery look. Although stretch marks are a normal occurrence for most women and some men, they’re not always welcome. But, if stretch marks are causing you to feel self-conscious, there are select treatments which can help to fade their appearance.

Micro-Needling also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy, stimulates the deeper layers of your skin to rebuild and restore. It has been clinically proven to fade the appearance of scarring including stretch marks. Dermapen open collagen fibers at the surface as they glide over the skin by breaking up the tough scar tissue. The body also recognizes these minor physical changes and initiates a healing response. As a result, new stronger, more elastic fibers replace the scar tissue, making skin look smoother and feel more flexible.

How Microneedling Works

Microneedling Pens has 12 microscopic needles that oscillate faster while creating the tiny wounds on the skin’s surface. This device is safer and more effective compared to traditional Microneedling rollers. Dermapen will give you more consistent results than laser treatments and dermal rollers. The needles in the Dermapen penetrate the skin vertically whereas with Microneedling rollers the needles penetrate the skin at an angle causing more chance of ‘tears’ through the skin leading to more side effects and so longer recovery time.

We can combine some great formulation to boost the desired benefits. Many options are available to help you get flawless and healthy-looking skin. So if your skin requires hydration, hyaluronic acid serum would be ideal. If you’re looking to brighten your skin or fade hyperpigmentation, a regenerating serum, like vitamin C, would be a great choice.

Microneedling is a clean and safe way to rejuvenate your skin and improve the look of imperfections and scarring. This non-ablative treatment uses tiny stainless-steel needles to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in your skin. As a result, new skin tissue replaces old damaged skin which reduces the appearance of many common skin concerns.

When your body detects a wound, its natural repair system is kick-started into action. The tip of the Dermapen contains 12 needles. These needles will puncture the skin and move back and forth as they are moved over a surface area.

This motion artificially creates microscopic wounds that will force your body’s repair response unit to increase cell regeneration and create new skin cells. As a result, treatment increases your collagen and elastin levels, making your skin firmer and younger-looking.

After Microneedling How to Care for Your Regenerating Skin

Immediately after treatment, your skin will feel warm and tight. It will also be pink or mildly red as if you were out in the sun for a while. The redness and warm feeling will subside after a few hours. But for some patients, it can take a day or two for these side effects to go away completely. If this persists, you may use a cooling face mask to reduce the redness, heat, and inflammation.

Immediately after your treatment, you should avoid the sun altogether. If you must go out in the sun, you will need to apply a use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF at least 30 or higher. You can use a sunhat if you are going outside for a few moments. For the first 72 hours following your treatment, clean your face with lukewarm water only. Your skin is sensitive and healing during this rejuvenation process, so avoid using any products that could irritate it or clog your pores.

Skinssence’s Serum and Accelerator will help to soothe and heal the skin while reducing irritation. Since your skin may feel drier than usual, you can hydrate and restore your skin’s balance with a serum containing hyaluronic acid. Do not wear makeup for 24 to 72 hours following your Microneedling treatment so you can allow your skin to breathe and recover. Remember to drink plenty of water to hydrate and to help heal your skin faster. No need for exfoliation, while your skin is healing, do not use any abrasive products like exfoliators and alcohol-based toners. You must remember that it is healing and regenerating. You should only apply products that help soothe and heal the skin during this time.
