A diamond is a pure carbon after all…..

What is Carbon Laser Facial?

The Carbon Laser Facial peel is an exfoliating and resurfacing treatment. It uses activated carbon powder and advanced Q-switch ND YAG lasers to treat many conditions. Carbon Facial is gentle on your skin and suitable for all ages, it will leave you and your skin smoother, plumper, and refreshed. No downtime and delivering immediate results that will help to create a much more youthful complexion.

How does it work?

The principle behind the black doll treatment is that carbon powder possesses a strong capacity to absorb dirt deep in the pores. The face and neck are first coated with carbon nano-particles. Further, the laser is used on the skin. The medical-graded laser allows the particles to penetrate deep into pores, shattering the epidermal keratinocytes and dirt. The heat from the laser also enables the carbon powder to be absorbed into the skin, stimulating the skin cells. Regeneration occurs by encouraging the growth of collagen and elastin fibres.

What is the ND YAG Laser Peel Treatment process?

A layer of a special carbon liquid will be applied and left on the skin for about 10 minutes so that it soaks through the upper layer of the skin and enters the pores. This is followed by a three-step process:

  • Firstly the laser will be used in a low-energy setting. This heats up the carbon particles in the skin and pores to activate the skin’s natural healing process.
  • The second step involves using the laser on a mode known as the ‘Q-switched’ mode, with a low energy setting. This will remove the upper layer of the skin.
  • The third step involves the laser being used at the Q-switched mode again, but with a slightly higher energy setting. This will target areas of pigmentation by shocking the melanocyte cells so that they stop producing melanin (pigment).

Carbon Laser aftercare

We advise to leaving the skin to breathe until the next morning, allowing our products to absorb and protect. Before bed, you can cleanse the skin with cotton pads and warm water to remove any of the days dirt then apply your usual night cream. We advise you to use a sun protection cream after treatment during the day at least SPF30. We recommend a course of 6 sessions for best results, maintenance treatments are also advised once a month or before a big event thereafter.

Hollywood Peel
Carbon Spectra Peel
Carbon Laser Facial
Charcoal Facial

Not at all. During the procedure you may experience slight tingling and warmth on the skin, which is normal while the laser pulses away the thin layer of Carbon.

Side effects are minimal with slight redness and tingling a few hours post treatment. Temporary hair removal to the treated area can occur and some individuals may experience a mild outbreak the week following the treatment. Lightening of facial hair can also occur.

This facial is extremely safe and is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. It’s also suitable for, and has the most impact on, skin that has issues, such as excess oil, acne, uneven pigment or brown patches, signs of aging and sun damage. If your skin shows signs of significant sun damage or stubborn wrinkles we may recommend another laser treatment to start with.
